S.A.L.O.N Series
The S.A.L.O.N (Shining A Light On Neighborhoods) Series began from a single woman's initiative to meet her community with accessibility -to the arts and healthy food. Rhonda Davis, the initiator of this series invites middle-school-aged (11-14 year old) students from Southside and Northside of Syracuse to a safe arts programming, centered around written self-reflection, artistic expression regarding one's neighborhood and food. This series is a bi-monthly programming that meets students in their neighborhood, on a Saturday from 1 pm to 3 pm.
*Right now, the S.A.L.O.N. Series will break until the New Year. Starting in March 2021, the S.A.L.O.N Series will transform to ArtHouse Delivers. With innovation, creativity, and hope, ArtHouse Alliance will deliver art supplies and meals to S.A.L.O.N. students.*

Virtual Writing Group
The initial virtual workshop was hosting on Sunday, November 1, 2o20 Sunday. The workshop featured fiction, creative nonfiction and memoir writing led by Dana Spiotta, an author and associate professor of English at SU. Spiotta says, Community workshops like this connect people from diverse backgrounds, ages and experiences. Virtual workshops with a small group can work just as well as in-person workshops and that the atmosphere serves as a “counter to the news of the noise and social media.”
ArtHouse Alliance looks to bring forth diverse group of people here in the Syracuse area and create an open virtual community for the writers. In gathering writers together, ArtHouse Alliance hopes to share their writing if they like or have a reading that would be published by The ArtHouse, so people could see what they are doing.
