Opera Workshop with Lillian Magrinelli

A virtual workshop that will discuss opera history with host, Lillian Magrinelli, an American Soprano.

The American Soprano Lillian Magrinelli has been praised for her “polished-silver gleam” and “precision” by Voix des arts. Mrs. Magrinelli made her professional debut as the title role in Humperdinks Hänsel and Gretel with the Greensboro Opera, while she was also performing Alice Ford in Verdi’s Falstaff with the Opera Theatre at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. In 2018, she won the Student Artist Competition at UNCG School of Music and performed Lia’s aria from Debussy’s L’enfant prodigue with the UNCG Symphony in the following season. Recent highlights include solo recitals and showcases in Brazil and Italy. Previously, she has participated in summer programs such as Chicago Summer Opera and CoOPERAtive program in Princeton, NJ. In Chicago, she performed Lady Billows in Albert Herring and scenes from Cosi fan tutte (Fiordiligi), The Rape of Lucretia (Female Chorus), Suor Angelica (title role), and Die Zauderflöte (First Lady). Mrs. Magrinelli holds a Bachelors of Music from Furman University, and a Master’s Degree from UNCG. At Furman, she performed Josephine in HMS Pinafore and sang the solos in Mozart’s Coronation Mass. Mrs. Magrinelli has been a finalist in several competitions, including the 2017 Classical Singer Competition, and 2019 Category winner of the NATS Competition. Most recently, she was awarded the 2020 Verdi Prize in the Orpheus Vocal Competition. She has also competed as a district participant in the Metropolitan National Council Auditions.
